Detox Programs
A sure way to detox successfully is to follow a detox program instead of
doing it ‘as you like to’.
After you have the hot lemon or lime drink upon rising in the morning,
you can follow the following detox program.

Upon rising |
Take supplement vitamins and minerals with the hot lemon or lime drink.
You can add a tablespoon of flax seed oil to your drink. Flax seed oil
is a great source of essential fatty acids omega 3, 6 and 9 and is
soothing to the intestinal membrane. For detox programs longer than 2 days, supplements and protein shakes
must be taken so the body will not be deficient in necessary nutrients.
Recommended supplements include wheat grass, vitamin C, vitamin E,
magnesium, milk thistle, zinc, lipoic acid, fish oil, probiotics,
dandelion, lecithin, turmeric and selenium. |

Half an hour before breakfast |
Fibre drink, followed by a large glass of water. Add 2 heaped teaspoons
of pshyllium fibre and 2 heaped teaspoons of ground flax seed to a glass
of water. Stir and drink right away before it sets. Psyllium helps
create a feeling of fullness as it swells in the stomach and keeps bowel
movement regular. Psyllium absorbs several times its own weight of
water therefore you must drink an extra glass of water to avoid
constipation. |

Breakfast |
Wheatgrass and other fruits, nuts, nut-milk (eg. pumpkin seed milk),
buckwheat pancakes, detox jams such as unsweetened pineapple jam. |

Morning tea |
Detox protein shake. There are lots of brands of detox protein powder
available in health food stores. Drink plenty of water during the day
to help flush out the toxins. |

Lunch |
Vegetable should make up the bulk of your lunch and dinner. Choose a
variety of vegetables of different colours to provide different
nutrients. Check out the detox menu and drinks menu. Finish with
vitamin and mineral supplements and herbal teas. |

Afternoon tea |
Detox protein shake. |

Dinner |

mineral supplements and herbal teas. |
|
One hour before bed |
Fibre drink, followed by large glass of water. |
After detox, reintroduce other foods back into your diet gradually.
Red meat should be avoided for another 5 – 7 days after your detox
program, in order to get the maximum benefit. It is also best to keep
red meat to once a week, unless you are iron deficient and recommended
by a health practitioner to increase your iron intake through red meat.
